‘La mujer’ translates to ‘the woman’ and in plural it is ‘Las mujeres.’ The man is ‘el hombre’ in Spanish and the plural is ‘los hombres.’
For children there are a few options; ‘la chica’ literally translates to ‘the girl’ while ‘el chico’ is ‘the boy.’
You’ve no doubt heard of ‘El Niño,’ the weather phenomenon that became trendy back in the 90’s.
While the weather phenomenon ‘El niño’ and ‘La niña’ refers to the warm and cool phases of a recurring climate pattern across the tropical Pacific, in Spanish it refers to ‘the child.’ When you make it masculine or feminine you refer to the child’s gender.
